While the folks at Hawthorne Casino Insider are thrilled with the expansion of gambling opportunities in our great prairie state, the one area that was left behind was online poker/live poker. Illinois residents still do not have the opportunity to play online for real cash, and there were only 3 venues that offer a chance to play live Poker.

We no longer have to make the trek from the city all the way out to Elgin or Aurora. Hawthorne Casino’s convenient location means that we only have to get to 35th and Laramie to enjoy the thrills of Texas Hold ‘Em, Stud Games, and hopefully many tournaments.
This addition to the Chicagoland entertainment options is worth the trip. I, for one, cannot wait to be able to play some poker for real money in a real casino. Kudos to the Hawthorne Casino planners for making sure this under-served need was fulfilled.
